Effective French language skills can lead to professional success in a bilingual country. Through dynamic contributions to numerous learning activities, students develop further their communication abilities and grammatical control. Students gain confidence in expressing their opinions in writing and verbally on various topics related to their work life and their personal experiences and describe past actions in relation to other past events. By applying appropriate grammar rules, students use personal and professional experience to express wishes, hopes and ambitions. Students will also begin to describe hypothetical situations. The added pronunciation exercises help students become more fluent and gain confidence in their speaking abilities.
There are four levels of proficiency in the French as a Second Language Program, and they have more than one section for additional practice. The levels are Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Proficient. Each level complements the other and builds upon previously introduced concepts and vocabulary.
Students who can express themselves in the past, present and future in simple sentences but need to increase the level of complexity of their written and oral productions by learning complex sentence structures, expressing and confronting their opinions.
