About This Course

In Ontario, municipalities are responsible for delivering clean and safe drinking water to their residents. However, backflow conditions can compromise water quality, posing significant health risks to consumers. The establishment and management of a cross-connection control program is the responsibility of each individual municipality or water authority. Ensuring the integrity of the water supply system is crucial, and in Ontario, this requires proper certification.

This course, accredited by the Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA) Cross Connection Control Committee, offers comprehensive in-person training to certify individuals in Cross Connection and Backflow Prevention. Our 5-day training program follows the guidelines set out in the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Canadian Cross Connection Control Manual.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn the designation of OWWA Certified Cross Connection Control Specialist. This certification is valid for five years, after which recertification is required.

For more information on this qualification, please visit the OWWA website.
