Environment and Climate Change Canada

Over 700 participants have participated in our applied enforcement training which is mandatory for Enforcement and Wildlife Officers to attain their official designation.

Client Success Story

Challenge

To attain their official designation as Enforcement and Wildlife Officers, candidates must complete applied enforcement training that includes academic studies and physical defensive tactics (PDT).

Insight

ACCT has partnered with Environment Canada to deliver this training since 2006. Our experience and relationship with the client and access to facilitators with deep law enforcement expertise provides a strong foundation for continuing success.

Solution

An intensive five-week program covers essential classroom learning, simulation scenarios and required PDT training, including the use of pepper spray, baton and handcuffing techniques. The program is designed to accommodate various group sizes, as well as French and English cohorts running simultaneously.

Result

The best indicator of the program’s value to the client is the success of learners who attend. More than 700 participants have successfully completed their training and earned official recognition as Enforcement and Wildlife Officers.

The success of this program is attributable to always keeping an eye on the ultimate goal, which is to do whatever we can to support the journey of these officers to compete the requirements to attain their designation.
