About This Course

In this foundation course of the Business Analysis Essentials program, participants learn current best practices through a mix of case study work, group discussions and exercises.

This course provides an introduction to the discipline of business analysis, including opportunity analysis, business case development, requirements elicitation, visual modelling and requirements management techniques, to ensure that solutions meet actual business needs.

Each participant is provided with A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide). The course surveys the guide’s six knowledge areas to introduce participants to the tasks and techniques of business analysis.

Additional Notes

This course (BAE1) is the first of seven courses in the Business Analysis Essentials Certificate program. In order to achieve your Algonquin College certificate, you must complete all seven courses within five years. However, taking all seven courses is not mandatory, and you may choose to select only those courses which meet your specific needs.
